The Walnut/ San Dimas Booster Club was established in 1991 to provide a means to raise money for the needs of auxiliary personnel and volunteers who work at Walnut and San Dimas Sheriff's Stations. These personnel consist of Uniform Reserves, Mounted Possee, the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team, the Disaster Communications Services personnel, Law Enforcement Explorers, and Civilian Volunteers.
The Sheriff's Reserve personnel and volunteers provide services in the city of San Dimas, the unincorporated areas of Covina, Azusa, Glendora, La Verne, Charter Oak, and the San Gabriel Mountains. Since 1991 the Booster Cub has been providing critical assistance by generating thousands of dollars to fund these valuable programs. The money is spent to purchase equipment and supplies, and to provide specialized training and education. As a side note, virtually all of the funding for these programs is through the efforts of the Booster Club…neither the Sheriff's Department or the County of Los Angeles provide a budget for these services.
The Booster Club consists of people like yourself…residents, merchants, business owners, and just about anyone who wants to get involved and make a positive difference in our community. If you're interested in how to join click the above link for an application. |
